Dance with us this Summer!
Ballet Academy Ventura camps and intensives offer students from the youngest beginners to pre-professionals a chance to elevate their ballet technique and learn new dance styles like character dances from Russia, Italy and Eastern Europe as well as Jazz & Contemporary. Summer Intensives are a great opportunity to improve technique, learn dance history, experience new choreography, and make new friends.

$400 for 1 week or $750 for 2 weeks

Meet the BAV 2024 Summer Camp & Intensives Faculty

Born in Russia, Ms. Fliagina graduated with distinction from the Perm State College of choreography in Russia. In 1990 she was accepted to Moscow State Theatre Kremlin Ballet where she worked with the renowned Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekaterina Maximova. She was then accepted to the world-renowned Perm Ballet where she was a soloist at the Perm State Opera House/ Tchaikovsky Ballet. She has performed roles in all the famous classical ballets and has toured internationally with the Russian Imperial Ballet, Moscow Classical ballet, and the Moscow Festival Ballet. Ms. Fliagina joined State Street Ballet as a dancer in 1998 was promoted to Ballet Mistress in 2000. In addition to her Ballet Mistress duties, she continues to appear in character roles in ballets like The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, and Cinderella. Ms. Fliagina has been an instructor at Ballet Academy Ventura since 2000. She has been Ventura County Ballet Company’s Associate Artistic Director and Choreographer and Ballet Mistress since 2005.
Ms. Fliagina brings her vast store of ballet knowledge to the students at BAV where she instructs classes and choreographs ballet productions.

Leeza was born in Santa Barbara, CA and started her training at State Street Ballet Academy and Ballet Academy Ventura. Leeza continued her education at Perm State International Ballet Academy and graduated with honors.
In 2016 Leeza became a finalist of International TV show for Youth Talent in Moscow ‘’Blue Bird". In 2019 Leeza won Second Place at the International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition "Domenico Modugno" in Italy, were she also received a Special Jury Prize.
She has performed a lead roles in ballets “La Fille Mal Gardee”(Lise), “Swan Lake” (Odette) “Coppelia” (Swanhilda), “La Bayadere” (Nikia), “Sleeping Beauty” (Princess Aurora), “Fire Bird” (Beloved Beauty), “Giselle” (Giselle) and “Nutcracker” (Dream Clara and Snow Queen). She has toured Internationally with professional ballet companies in Germany, Switzerland, China, Greece and Japan.
Leeza has perform with Ventura County Ballet throughout her career, starting out as a Little Snow Flake and eventually staring as Dream Clara. She is a recent past company member with State Street Ballet.
She has also been a lead instructor and rehearsal director at Northwest Studio of Ballet and Valley Performing Arts Council in Fresno.

Natalie Burkhart is from Ventura, California where she trained at Ballet Academy Ventura, primarily under the direction Marina Fliagina, Bretislav Weidlich and Lisa Laubacher.
With the Ventura County Ballet, Natalie has performed a variety of soloist roles in classic ballets such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote and Cinderella. Her further training includes summer intensives with State Street Ballet, the Marat Daukayev School of Ballet, and the Rock School for Dance Education. She has participated in California Dance Classics where she received an award for a contemporary duo and later performed in one of their galas in Los Angeles.
Natalie graduated from Butler University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Pedagogy. While at Butler, she has performed in classical ballets including the Nutcracker, Giselle, Swan Lake, La Vivandiere and Cinderella. She has also performed in various contemporary works choreographed by David Ingram, Ramon Flowers and Derek Reid. In addition, she had the recent opportunity to choreograph a piece titled “Gaia” as a part of Butler Ballet’s Senior Choreography Showcase.
When Natalie is not dancing, she can be found spending time outside at the beach or going on hikes.

Sasha was born in Santa Barbara, CA. She started her training at State Street Ballet Academy and Ballet Academy Ventura. Sasha continued her education at Perm State International Ballet Academy in Russia and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Academy in Canada.
She has performed with Ventura County Ballet and State Street Ballet.
Sasha has been faculty of the Ballet Academy Ventura Jr “Junior” and Junior Intensives at BAV since 2020.
